Triangle Productions!
Triangle Productions! is pleased to announce that two of their three shows for their upcoming 17th season will take place at the CoHo Theatre Building. These shows are either Northwest or West Coast Premieres.
First, beginning March 20 through the middle of April, 2008 is:
THE J.A.P. SHOW!
A Northwest Premiere! Three Jewish female comics salute the trailblazing and treasured pioneers of comedy with their own zany stories and hilarious stand up. The show is peppered with vintage footage of the original queens of comedy, Belle Barth, Totie Fields, Pearl Williams and others. Kvetching about husbands, family, sex and weight issues, these "princesses of comedy" prove that the stuff cracking is still pretty darn funny today.
After all, laughter is the best medicine - unless you married a doctor...then that's better!
Second, show opening June 19th and running through July 2008 is:
GLORIOUS! By Peter Quilters
West Coast Premiere! Based on a true story - Florence Foster Jenkins (1868-1944) a gregarious soprano who in the early 1940's became the must-see artist of New York. Paying little attention to her critics, 'the first lady of sliding scale' resolutely restricted her professional performances to an annual recital, yet her unconventional career culminated in a triumphant sell-out concert at Carnegie Hall, New York, shortly before her death.
Her saying was, 'people may say I can't sing, but no one can ever say I didn't sing!'
Ticket prices range from $12 for season tickets to $23 for each performance. For more information contact: triangle productions! @ 503-239-5919 or e-mail us at trianglepro@juno.com.
